Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel : Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel: Trendy hotel in downtown Milwaukee with galleries to visit, live music at night, and specialty artist-designed rooms.

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Cost: Rates start at $150 but go up to $700 for specialty rooms.

Our Overall Rating: 5/5

This is such a cool and accommodating hotel. Whether or not you’re going to go for the specialty artist rooms, there is so much to see. The art throughout the hotel, the galleries, restaurants and bars, the live music at night…it really is a fun place to visit and in a lively area of Milwaukee! Plus we loved that it was pet friendly. I will say it’s about twice the price to book an artist room but we absolutely loved the Leopard Room and think it’s such a great spot for a special getaway!

Cleanliness Rating: 5/5

Everything was so well cared for!

Favorite Room: The Leopard Room by Lon Michels.

Haines Shoe House : York, Pennsylvania

Haines Shoe House: A shoe-shaped house that was originally built in 1948, now restored as a vacation rental.

Location: York, PA

Cost: ~$300/night

Our Overall Rating: 4/5

For a little shoe-shaped house that was built in the 40s, this place is pretty dang cute and functional! Totally worth a stop if you’re passing through, whether you’re staying the night or not! You can’t drive up the driveway unless you’re staying there but you can see the shoe from the road! The outside is so fun to see and the inside is cute and cozy. They had some nice amenities to enhance the stay (like a hot tub) but the highlight is definitely just that it’s a cool and quirky piece of history. I will say it was quite pricey (they do a sliding scale depending on season/demand) and when we went they requested a 2-night minimum so it was one of our more expensive tours.

Cleanliness Rating: 4/5

In such great shape and clearly cared for but still a vintage home so just be aware it’s not all a brand-new luxury resort and you should be fine. 🙂

Favorite Room: The whole house!

SureStay Plus by Best Western Mesquite : Mesquite, TX

SureStay Plus by Best Western Mesquite: Basic hotel with a single red heart tub.

Location: Mesquite, Texas

Cost: ~$150

Our Overall Rating: 1/5

Only notable thing about the hotel was the heart tub and unfortunately something else in the room needed fixing so we didn’t stay the night! The room was quite spacious but not really special in any other way.

Cleanliness Rating: 2.5/5

Maybe some of the rooms are more updated and kept up but overall the hotel and heart tub room wasn’t especially clean! Just decent.

Favorite Room: Just one heart tub

Booking Info: Book online but call to make sure they give you the right room since there’s only one heart tub.

7F Lodge : College Station, TX

7F Lodge: An adults-only cabin getaway (and wedding venue) that’s themed around the history of Texas.

Location: College Station, Texas

Cost: ~$200-$300

Our Overall Rating: 5/5

This place was such a fun getaway!!! So much privacy, very cozy cabins, incredible tubs, and overall so romance-focused. There are so many lovely details including breakfast supplies waiting for you in the kitchen. This place is very Cowboy Kitsch but also so classy and clean. There are heart tubs but not in every cabin. We loved staying in The Barn but the tub in Sully’s Place was for suuuure a close second fav. That screened in porch heart tub!!!

Cleanliness Rating: 5/5

Favorite Room: The Barn or Sully’s Place were my two favorites.

Dallas Dreamhaus : Fort Worth, TX

Dallas Dreamhaus: Photoshoot location and private home with incredibly detailed, hand-carved interiors inspired by Versailles, the Louvre, and the Paris Opera House.

Location: Dallas, Texas

Cost: ~$150

Our Overall Rating: 5/5

I know you (sadly) can’t book this place as an overnight, but since you can book it for a shoot I wanted to include it in the tour! It’s truly so breathtaking to see and the story behind it is just so beautiful. All of the interiors were hand carved and painted by a pair of high school sweethearts. The new owner has continued to decorate in a style that’s true to the homes design which just adds to the fun! She owns another location called the Dallas Dollhaus as well which looks like a pink-filled dream! We didn’t have time to visit but I’m sure we will next time.

Cleanliness Rating: 5/5

Favorite Room: Obsessed with the entire house!
