EXPLORING AMERICA’S HIDDEN GEM HOTELS ✨

Haines Shoe House : York, Pennsylvania :

Haines Shoe House: A shoe-shaped house that was originally built in 1948, now restored as a vacation rental.

Location: York, PA

Cost: ~$300/night

Our Overall Rating: 4/5

For a little shoe-shaped house that was built in the 40s, this place is pretty dang cute and functional! Totally worth a stop if you’re passing through, whether you’re staying the night or not! You can’t drive up the driveway unless you’re staying there but you can see the shoe from the road! The outside is so fun to see and the inside is cute and cozy. They had some nice amenities to enhance the stay (like a hot tub) but the highlight is definitely just that it’s a cool and quirky piece of history. I will say it was quite pricey (they do a sliding scale depending on season/demand) and when we went they requested a 2-night minimum so it was one of our more expensive tours.

Cleanliness Rating: 4/5

In such great shape and clearly cared for but still a vintage home so just be aware it’s not all a brand-new luxury resort and you should be fine. 🙂

Favorite Room: The whole house!
