The grown-up version of summer camp with a sophisticated twist. No cell service, very cozy cabin lodging, and rustic cowboy kitsch decor all around.
Location: Big Indian, New York
Cost: ~$250-$500+ depending on the room and season
Our Overall Rating: 5/5
I love trying all different levels of a “themed” experience and this one is certainly on the more luxurious tier. The coziest rooms and soaking tubs, fluffy robes, high quality linens, incredible food (dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and welcome drinks. It’s only 2.5 hours from NYC but such a peaceful area with lots of beautiful nature and hiking trails. There are some onsite activities like an outdoor sauna and a game room with a pool table, plus they were hosting an axe throwing session the day we went. All around such a peaceful and rejuvenating experience.
Cleanliness Rating: 5/5
Even though this place has camp vibes it is incredibly clean and well cared for.
Favorite Room: Any room with a soaking tub.
