Clayton Plaza Hotel: A large hotel just outside of St Louis with ballrooms and conference centers and chandeliers in the lobby. Reminds me of somewhere I would have stayed with my family in the early 2000’s when one of my cousins was getting married. Does that explain the vibe? The special draw to this hotel is definitely the Honeymoon Suite (aka Executive Jacuzzi Suite) that features a heart-shaped tub. Although we didn’t go to the sit-down breakfast, I hear it’s pretty good!

This place isn’t super special – in fact, it’s very run-of-the-mill hotel in a big city. The room with the heart tub is very basic and has no other “honeymoon” feel to it, but the bathroom with several plaques leading you to the shower was very entertaining. All in all it’s a skippable spot, but if you’re looking for a sweet lookin’ green heart-shaped tub near St. Louis, this one’s for you.

Certainly not disgusting – and we slept there just fine – but the floors of our room had hair and crumbs and appeared to have not gotten a vacuum in awhile. The rest of the hotel seemed clean and functional so…maybe the room was just having a tough week.
