EXPLORING AMERICA’S HIDDEN GEM HOTELS ✨

Boulder House : Yucca Valley, CA :

Boulder House: An Airbnb built into the boulders in the desert of Yucca Valley.

Location: Yucca Valley, CA

Cost: $500-$800 per night depending on the dates. Sleeps 14 and is good for groups.

Our Overall Rating: 3.5/5

This is such a cool and unique experience when it comes to desert visits. I absolutely loved being right up into the boulders and spent most of our days outside climbing and exploring. It was so private but also close enough to town to feel convenient. All in all it was such a fun experience. The reason for the lower rating is there was a split consensus on the decor. Some of our group agreed it was too chaotic and busy for them to feel relaxed, but some felt like it added to the desert experience. The house is full of character, color, art, and clutter – but it’s all part of the vibe they’re going for. The house itself also has lots of history as it was built by the first Native American Playboy Bunny who has a fascinating and heart wrenching story.

Cleanliness Rating: 3.5/5

Everything was cleaned but with lots of vintage elements and outdoor spaces it feels like a cabin getaway in the desert.

Favorite Room: The Boulder Bedroom was definitely the highlight!
